IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people like to try new things, for example, places to visit and types of food. Other people prefer to keep doing things they are familiar with.
Discuss both these attitudes and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the cosmopolitan epoch,the society is polarised into two groups almost equally about the notion that whether masses love to explore the new things including tourism and food or not.As divergent peole has different mindset,however,my views are in synchronisation with the former school of thought.
On the one hand,there are certain reasons which can be held accountable behind the peple's views about the latter phenomenon.The specific reason for doing the familiar things includes the comfort zone.Comfort provide more relaxation. A survey is conducted in India in 2025,which shows 60% of people who were doing the familiar things ,they felt more comfortable rather than others.
On the other hand,without any qualms,I do favour of those echelons who do agree with the former notion.Firstly,It helps to make people multicultural and multilingual. Those masses who goes to visit the new places, they will meet the new nation people and come to know about their culture,clothing,food etc.It directly helps them to get the jobs in multinational companies which mostly prefer the workers who are multilingual as well as multicultural.Furthermore,it hepls to supress the depression.Lastly,because of workaholism,there is a gap between the predecessors and the children.The main cause is less quality time.When they go outside with their family members,they get some quality time to spent together which makes the relationships consolidate.For Instance, A survey shows that the 70% relationships were consolidated by outings which was conducted recently in this year.
To recapitulate,despite people may bvary in their opinions,however,I do concur with the former school of thought.
