Student answer (Band 6.0)

People have different attitudes regarding places and food.Several like to try new food and enjoy to vist new places in their life. However, some do not like to try new things they want everything remain same as earlier.According to me, first approch more likely to be favored because of many reasons which i will discuess in the upcoming paragraph.

On the one side, why people do not want change in their life. the first cause is that they want to keep in touch with their tradition. In other words, if they move any place then they can settle there with their children where they need to adopt their culture. In this case, they can deprive from their own customes and rituals. Moreover, they think it is waste of money for buying outside foods which are also not good for their health.because they know that food is not heyenic which contains lot of spices, oil, fibre and so many other ingreidents. Therefore they avoid to try new foods.

On the other side, visting in new places and eating new foods give a good experince of life. For instance, the newspaper of india "The Times of India" publishered a news in 2024 indicated that 2.3 milions of people travelled other countries in order to enjoy foods and places. Furthermore, they get a opportunity to make beautiful memory with their friends and family members by visting new places. Even they can increse their knowledge about other cultures and places.By doing this , they can make new friends in other nations which would be beneficial for their business deal.

In conclusion, though some think that arriving new areas and try new food is wastage of time and money, this approch bring many advandages in humen life including new experience, beautiful memories with near onces, help to make strong relation with other nations for making profits can not be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt regarding trying new things versus keeping familiar routines, and presents a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and generally supported with reasons and examples, such as the cited newspaper statistic. However, some arguments lack full extension, and the conclusion contains slight conceptual blending around business deals. Nevertheless, all parts of the task are addressed and the main position is maintained throughout, satisfying the requirements for a Band 6.5 or solid Band 6 descriptor level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is divided into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing opposing views, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one side', 'On the other side', and 'In conclusion', to signal structure. However, referencing and transitions are sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, as seen in 'In other words, if they move any place then they can settle there with their children where they need to adopt their culture'. Paragraphing is present and appropriate, but overall progression can occasionally feel abrupt due to sentence-level cohesion issues.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items like 'deprive', 'tradition', and 'business deal'. However, there are notable word choice, spelling, and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'approch' instead of 'approach', 'discuess' instead of 'discuss', 'heyenic' instead of 'hygienic', 'ingreidents' instead of 'ingredients', 'visting' instead of 'visiting', and 'humen' instead of 'human'. These errors indicate a limited precision in lexical control, though communication is generally maintained.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures often contain noticeable errors. Examples of grammatical inaccuracies include 'enjoy to vist' instead of 'enjoy visiting', 'they want everything remain same' instead of 'they want everything to remain the same', 'waste of money for buying' instead of 'a waste of money to buy', and punctuation or capitalization issues at the start of sentences. The frequency of these errors places the writing firmly at a Band 5.5, as attempts at complex structures frequently result in faulty syntax.
