Some people like to try new things, for example, places to visit and types of food. Other people prefer to keep doing things they are familiar with.

Discuss both these attitudes and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

People have different attitude towards new experience. Some people enjoy the unfimiliar activities and food, while other prefer to stay in thier comfort zone. I will discuss both viewpoints and give my opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.

Firstly, Staying with the familiar activities and food can provide comfort and security. When people have thier options for food and places to visit, they will get less disappointed and can enjoy their trips more comfortably. People with more busy schedule prefer this choose mostly. For example: A business mam who travel alot for work purpose would prefer to stay in same hotel and resturant because of convience and reliabilty. Familiar activities also help people to develop more knowledge about it.

On the other hand, exploring different and new activities can build a confidence in individuals. People can explore different culture, tradition and food all around the world. In addition to this, adverntures to different places and activities can help people to be more open-minded by meeting with different group of people. For example- During the summer, individual like to do camping or organize trips to adventure places because of the social media. people use to post their trip on internet platforms to make the group for activities. The, this can help them to make new friends.

To conclude with, People can make a balance between their comfort zone and the new experience. Familiar activities can provide stability where new experience can make memborable moments for them. Therefore, although it's reasonable to stay with same thing are enjoyable but trying new things can make life more rewardable.

Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the response, but paragraph internal cohesion requires more sophisticated linking. Overall, the arrangement provides a clear logical flow that supports the reader's comprehension.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'comfort zone', 'open-minded', and 'stability'. However, there are notable lexical errors and spelling mistakes throughout the text, including 'unfimiliar', 'thier', 'mam', 'travel alot', 'resturant', 'convience', 'adverntures', 'memborable', and 'rewardable'. These errors show limited control over word formation and spelling, although communication is not significantly impeded. To improve, the student needs to expand their vocabulary control and pay closer attention to spelling and correct collocations such as 'rewarding' instead of 'rewardable'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at conditional and relative clauses like 'When people have their options for food and places to visit, they will get less disappointed...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('People have different attitude', 'individual like'), articles ('a business mam who travel alot'), and punctuation errors like stray hyphens ('Example-'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur regularly enough to prevent the writing from achieving a Band 7.
