Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both attitudes towards trying new things versus sticking to familiar routines and clearly stating a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on why people like new things mentions that it helps to increase knowledge of culture and language, which is relevant, but the support lacks depth. Similarly, the reasons given for preferring the familiar, such as fear of embarrassment, are introduced but under-developed. Phrases like 'In my opinion, It is a good idea for the people to make more friend while visiting new places' do not fully tie back to the core debate of novelty versus familiarity. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing it firmly at a band 5.5 to 6.0 level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay is divided into five paragraphs, showing a clear structural framework including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'On the first hand', 'Moreover', and 'On the other side', though some phrases like 'On the first hand' are incorrect lexical collocations. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different viewpoints and the writer's opinion. However, logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing referencing, such as 'They always have a some kind confusion in their regarding choosing new food'. While the overall arrangement is coherent enough to follow the writer's train of thought, cohesion is mechanical and faulty in places.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting words like 'tradition', 'introvert', 'secnic locations', and 'perference'. However, there are numerous lexical and spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'familar', 'any trying', 'quntity', 'habbitual', 'embarce', and 'secnic'. Word choice is frequently unnatural or inaccurate, as seen in expressions like 'things of particular place' and 'food flavour and quntity'. While the intended meaning is usually clear despite these slips, the frequency of spelling mistakes and awkward collocations prevents the vocabulary score from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'While other people trying to stick with things they are familar with' and 'When people discover new places they learn many things...'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors that cause noticeable difficulty for the reader. There are severe subject-verb agreement issues ('Everyone have', 'Many people to prefer', 'other people trying'), missing articles, and awkward syntactic structures like 'It only depend on person who want to explore the world'. Punctuation and capitalization errors are also present, such as unnecessary spaces before commas. These persistent inaccuracies restrict the grammar score to a band 5.0.
