Student answer (Band 5.5)
There are few individuals who explore new things like tourist spots and loves to try different cuisines.Whereas others prefer to do what they are doing since long. Well both has their own benefits. Before commenting, both views will be discussed further.
On the one hand, proponents believe that, trying different things allows an individuals to explore what the world holds. It gives an opportunity to travel new places and people can learn about the different culture and their tradition. For example if a person visit to japan people are wearing kimonos which is a traditional clothing of there which reflects their tradition. Food is another thing which win the hearts of many in different parts of the world, and that is come in to recognition because of travelling to new places and try new food. For example pizza, it was originated in italy but now it is popular everywhere due to travelling to different places.
On the other hand, opponents prefer doing familiar things, meaning many people has fear of changing their routine and they think that to enjoy at fullest people should do whatever they are doing since long. For example, many individuals going to their family members house for enjoyment and they kept doing same thing since ages and they find a perfect leisure for them. This brings inner satisfaction and at the same time help them to engage in the activities they were indulged in.Apart from this, many people consider going beyond their country is a waste on money and for many travelling is out of budget and prefer to be there where they used to be.
In conclusion, I believe trying new things has many benefits from exploring to new places and trying out unknown food. However, flexible approach must be followed if a person if happy with whatever they are doing tell now they must be set free and who love to explore new things then they should allow to do some adventurous.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both attitudes towards trying new things and sticking to familiar routines, while also offering a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is uneven. For instance, the discussion on exploring new cultures through travel in the second body paragraph is somewhat repetitive and relies on simple examples like pizza and kimonos without fully extending the argument. Similarly, the counter-argument regarding familiarity and financial constraints in the third paragraph touches upon relevant points, but some ideas remain under-developed or lack deeper elaboration. To reach a higher level, the response would need to extend its supporting points more fully and maintain a consistent depth of analysis across all paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing each viewpoint, and a concluding stance. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. However, cohesion within and between sentences is sometimes mechanical or faulty. Transitional phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are correctly introduced, but referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'and that is come in to recognition'. Additionally, the flow is slightly disrupted by abrupt transitions between sentences, meaning that while the logical progression is generally understandable, the cohesive devices are not always smoothly integrated. Enhancing the variety and subtlety of transition markers would elevate the organizational control of the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'proponents', 'leisure', and 'inner satisfaction'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that reflect limitations in lexical control, such as 'loves' instead of 'love', 'travel new places' instead of 'travel to new places', and 'waste on money' instead of 'waste of money'. Other inaccuracies include 'unknown food' rather than 'unfamiliar food' or 'exotic cuisine', and 'tell now' instead of 'till now'. While these errors do not seriously impede overall communication, they restrict the lexical score because the vocabulary lacks the precision and natural collocation required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied structures such as relative clauses and conditional-style constructions. Nevertheless, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Well both has their own benefits', 'many people has fear'), missing articles ('visit to japan', 'traditional clothing of there'), incorrect prepositions ('come in to recognition'), and awkward verb tenses or forms ('who love to explore new things then they should allow to do some adventurous'). While these errors rarely impede the overall communication of ideas, their frequency and the tendency for complex structures to contain mistakes place the grammatical control firmly within this category.
