Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is a frequent debatable topic whether people should try new experience by exploring different places or food dishes. However, others beleieve in doing familiar same things without adopting any change. Expect certain cases, I believe both opinions have equal importance it is based on people perfernce and mindset.
To begin with, there are several compelling reasons which makes individual to try new things and activities. Firstly, the curiousity of people to know about new places. To be precise, mostly every individual want to explore the world which they live and their desire to visit different places to learn about their culture, food and popular places create their interest eventually leads them to choose different destination for travel. For example, a recent survey conducted by travel magazine of America presented that significant number of tourist choose their travel destination based on their curiousty and interest in truely new place which they never visit to widen their exposure of the world in 2025.
On the other hand, people who prefer to do similar things because they find difficult to accept the change. To clarify that, many adults and senior citizens do not want to try new thing due to their fear and their inability to accept certain changes like food. For instance, in 2024, my family went to Bangalore to attend south indian wedding of our family friend but my grandparents and parents could not accept their food and unfamiliar environment because their inability and fear of trying new things.hence, it leads them to left behind and outdated to new world.
In the conclusion, I believe that both views have their own importance one side believe in exploring while other stay focus on their regurality which is good thing.
In conclusion, curiousity and break from regular cycle of life are the main reason which makes people try rew things. However, inability to accept and fear of new things lead people to focused on their familiar things without changing them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both attitudes and give a view that each has value, supported by relevant examples: travel curiosity illustrates trying new experiences, while your family’s reaction to unfamiliar food illustrates preferring the familiar. However, the position is not fully clear or consistently developed. The opening says both views have “equal importance,” but the conclusion mainly summarises the two sides without explaining when or why one approach may be preferable. Some support is also under-developed: the travel survey is asserted rather than connected clearly to the argument, and the family example ends with a broad claim that people become “outdated.” To strengthen the response, explain the benefits and drawbacks of each attitude and state your own position more directly throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a concluding section. Transitions such as “To begin with” and “On the other hand” help signal the change in viewpoint. However, progression is weakened by repetitive or mechanical linking, including “To clarify that” and the repeated “In the conclusion” and “In conclusion.” The final two paragraphs also repeat similar points rather than bringing the discussion to a clear synthesis. Some connections between sentences are unclear, particularly the move from the family’s difficulty with unfamiliar food to the claim that this leaves them “behind and outdated.” Use fewer formulaic transitions, make each paragraph develop one connected point, and ensure pronouns and cause-and-effect links are explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “curiosity,” “exposure,” “familiar,” and “inability to accept change,” and you convey the main ideas despite some imprecise choices. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “things” and “new,” while several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less natural: “perfernce,” “curiousty,” “regurality,” and “rew things.” Some combinations are also awkward, such as “choose their travel destination based on their curiosity” and “stay focus on their regurality.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and vary the vocabulary for experiences, routines, and unfamiliar settings. Proofreading spelling and choosing precise expressions would make your meaning easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple sentences and attempts at longer structures, including clauses introduced by “because” and “which.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to read. For example, “there are several compelling reasons which makes individual” has subject–verb agreement and article problems, while “mostly every individual want” also has agreement errors. The sentence beginning “For instance, in 2024” runs into “hence” without appropriate sentence punctuation, and “it leads them to left behind” has an incorrect verb pattern. Work on agreement, articles, verb forms after “to,” and sentence boundaries. Building accurate shorter sentences before combining them will help you express the ideas more clearly.
