Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response briefly introduces the contrast between trying new experiences and following familiar routines, and it signals that you have an opinion. However, it does not actually discuss either attitude in meaningful detail or state what your opinion is. The reference to dining out and exploring new things is relevant, but no reasons or examples are provided to support it. The task also requires at least 250 words, and this response is 174 words short of that minimum. To develop the answer, explain why some people seek novelty, why others value familiarity, and clearly state which attitude you prefer, supporting each point with a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces the topic, and the next paragraph begins to contrast the two views. The transition “However” helps signal a change in perspective. Nevertheless, the response ends before a clear progression of ideas can be established; there are no developed supporting paragraphs or conclusion. The sentence promising that an explanation will appear “in upcoming paragraph” does not provide that explanation. Build a clear sequence by giving each attitude its own paragraph, then adding a paragraph that states and supports your opinion. Use linking phrases to show how each reason relates to the question.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “globalization,” “consumerism,” “exploring new things,” and “old schedules,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, several choices are imprecise or awkward, such as “stay up to date with trend in demand” and “doing things like dine out.” “Contemporary modern era” is also repetitive, while “old schedules” does not clearly express the idea of familiar routines. These choices limit clarity and naturalness. Aim for precise phrases that directly describe the two attitudes, such as “seek new experiences” and “prefer familiar routines,” and check collocations and word forms when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes both short statements and an attempt at a more complex sentence, particularly “Some people believes that trying new thing is exciting at some point.” However, control is uneven: “Some people believes” has subject–verb disagreement, and “other think” also needs an appropriate plural form. The opening sentence is not a complete, well-formed sentence: “consumerism increases day by day, and stay up to date with trend in demand” leaves the second clause without a clear subject. There is also an incomplete construction in “My explanation … will be given in upcoming paragraph.” Practise building complete clauses with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement and sentence boundaries.
