Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, people prefer to spend their holidays and vacations by going outside of their home. Some people like to visit new places and try new food whenever they go outside. Whereas, other individuals prefer to do same things by which they are familiar. I think both types of people have their own perspectives according to their choice. In this essay I will describe both these attitudes and give my own opinion at the end of the essay.
On the one hand, some people like to visit new locations and try different cuisines. These type of people are more interested in exploring new things and want to experience something new. This nature helps them to take a short break from their daily routine. For example, most of the young individuals always prefer to visit new destinations whenever they have time. In addition, people want to try a variety of food item which provide them knowledge about local food of that area.
On the other hand, some people are always prefer to visit same places and want to eat same type of food which they usually know. This is beacuse they do not want to take a risk for going unfamiliar places and find it not good as their expections. Therefore, they prefer locations which they already know and they enjoy spending time there. For instance, an older people mostly like to visit same places like temples. Moreover, they also prefer to eat their native food which they usually eat like a homemade food.
In conclusion, both types of individuals have their own preferences to spend time by visiting places and enjoy things. I believe by visiting new places everytime gives us a chance to explore many new places of the world and eating a local food also provide us knowledge of cultural background of a local people of that area.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both attitudes by discussing people who seek new destinations and food, and those who prefer familiar places and meals. Your opinion is present, especially in the conclusion, where you favour exploring new places and local cuisine. However, the position is not fully clear in the introduction, which says both groups have valid perspectives, and the essay promises to give your opinion “at the end.” The supporting ideas are relevant but general: the examples of young people and older people are asserted rather than explained, and the benefits of trying new food are not developed beyond gaining knowledge. State your preference clearly from the outset and extend each main point with a specific reason or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for each attitude, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the contrast easy to follow, while examples are placed with the relevant viewpoint. This meets the expected level of coherent organisation and shows some effective progression. To make the flow more natural and controlled, reduce formulaic signposting and improve links between individual claims. For example, the move from taking a break from routine to young people’s travel preferences is abrupt, and “In addition” introduces the food point without showing precisely how it supports the paragraph’s main idea. The conclusion also repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate both sides, including “destinations,” “cuisines,” “daily routine,” and “native food.” These choices show an attempt to vary expression beyond very basic language. However, the range is limited by repeated wording such as “new places,” “people,” and “prefer,” and several collocations or forms are inaccurate: “food item,” “a homemade food,” and “cultural background of a local people” sound unnatural. Spelling errors such as “beacuse” and “expections” are also noticeable. Build a more precise range for discussing travel and familiarity, and check common word partnerships and spelling so that your meaning is consistently clear and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “whenever,” “which,” and “because.” Most ideas remain understandable, but errors in sentence construction and basic grammar occur often enough to limit accuracy. For example, “These type of people are” has a number-agreement error, “some people are always prefer” uses an incorrect verb pattern, and “This is because they do not want to take a risk for going” has an awkward grammatical construction. Articles and plurals also need attention in phrases such as “an older people” and “a variety of food item.” Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and checking articles and singular/plural nouns, then use complex clauses only when you can control them reliably.
