Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's rapidly changing world, preference of exploring new things or living the traditional way has been a topic of considerable debate. While some people believe, that trying new things help them achieve different experiences, others argue that they are contended with their mundane way of living. In this essay, i will be discussing both the perspectives and give my opinion at the end that how geeting to know new things can expand their choices regarding and keep the knowledgeable regarding the current market trends.
To begin with, in the last decade the food and entertainment industry have seen a rapid growth and innovation. More than a decade ago, the food options used to be very limited with very basic food varities also the entertainment industry was limited to single screen cineplexes. As time progressed, so were the food options with large options available in street food and fine dining. As a result, people nowadays have more cuisines and food to explore. They try it either as a part of peer pressue from freinds or colleagues or for the joy of trying some unique and different. For instance, people do cafe hopping to try various food options at different cafes as each cafe provides varying ambiance and food options.Additionaly, exploring new things keeps an individual knowledgable according to cultural norms so that he can share his experiences with peers or take part in discussions.
However, few people are happy with their orthodox way of living.According to them, they are used to the processes of items or things they work with on daily basis and find it hard to go out of their comfort zone to try something new.For instance, a large population of people in my country use mobile phones which are cheap and have basic functionality instead of opting for phones with latest features.
To conclude, the debate over living tradionally or exploring new things will always persist. In my opinion, an individual should explore and get to visit, experience and taste new things because you got one life to live it all.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both attitudes and state a clear preference for exploring new experiences, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The examples about cafe hopping and choosing basic mobile phones are relevant, and the discussion of comfort zones helps explain why some people avoid change. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the benefits of trying new things receive more explanation, while the familiar-lifestyle view is supported mainly by one example without exploring its reasons or consequences. The opening also promises discussion of how new experiences expand choices and awareness of market trends, but this point is not clearly developed. Explain each attitude more fully and connect examples directly to the reasons behind it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “To conclude” make the overall direction easy to follow. Within paragraphs, though, some links are abrupt or mechanical. For example, the move from changes in food and entertainment to peer pressure and then cultural awareness brings together several points without clearly showing how they relate. Some references, such as “they” in the introduction, are also not immediately precise. Group related ideas, use clearer links between cause and example, and make sure each paragraph develops one central point before moving to another.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “comfort zone,” “cuisines,” “fine dining,” and “latest features,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “a topic of considerable debate” and “cultural norms.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “contended with their mundane way of living,” “large options,” and “keeps an individual knowledgeable according to cultural norms.” Spelling errors such as “varities,” “pressue,” and “knowledgable” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations of words and check spelling carefully; precise, familiar phrasing is more effective than formal-sounding expressions that do not fit the meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning “While” and “According to them,” and most of the message remains understandable. Some grammatical errors nevertheless occur in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “the food and entertainment industry have seen” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “trying new things help them” needs a singular verb. Several sentences run together after full stops, as in “cineplexes. As time progressed,” and the introduction contains an incomplete or awkwardly constructed final clause. Review agreement and punctuation, and practise building complex sentences with a clear main clause. This will make your varied structures more controlled and easier to read.
