Student answer (Band 6.0)
It can be generally seen that some individuals always prefer to try new things such as to explore new places and preparing a unusual meal. However, some sections of society do only those things, which they are used to like shopping and watching movies. From my perspective, people may change their routine and try to do something different if they can do so.
On the one hand, when people do something different, it makes them happy. This is because they get a chance to feel diverse experiences. For example, if someone going for a hike first time, he/she can not only enjoy the nature surrounding them but also interact with strangers on their way and have a chat with them. Therefore, trying new activities can give people a sense of excitement and satisfaction. Moreover, they have an opportunity to enhance their knowledge. For instance, by visiting new historical buildings they have never seen before, people can learn about the history and culture of different places.
On the other hand, some people may find happiness in their daily routine activities that is why , they do not want to try new things. For instance, gossips with friends and watching television shows can provide satisfaction to them. As a result, they do not like to leave their comfort zone and adapt new hobbies.
In the conclusion, Although people are happy with those tasks in which they feel comfortable, they may try new experiences if individuals have time , so that they can feel fresh.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both attitudes and state a preference for trying different experiences, so the response is relevant to the task. The benefits of novelty are supported with examples such as hiking and visiting historical buildings. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the reasons for staying with familiar activities are mostly listed, and the conclusion adds the condition “if individuals have time” without explaining its importance. Your position is also softened by “may change their routine,” so it is not fully clear whether you recommend trying new things generally or only in certain circumstances. Develop the familiar-side perspective with a reason, and make your own view consistent and explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each attitude, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the contrast easy to follow, while examples generally appear beside the ideas they support. This meets the lower-band expectation for coherent organisation and shows some stronger control through paragraphing and progression. To make the flow more consistently logical, clarify links between claims and examples, and avoid abrupt or unclear transitions such as “As a result” before the point about leaving one’s comfort zone. The conclusion should also synthesise the discussion rather than introduce a new condition about having time.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range to discuss the topic, including “diverse experiences,” “sense of excitement and satisfaction,” “historical buildings,” and “comfort zone.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. There are also some inaccurate or unnatural expressions that limit precision, such as “preparing a unusual meal,” “gossips with friends,” and “adapt new hobbies.” “Some sections of society” is also an unnecessarily formal way to refer to people with a particular preference. Aim for more natural collocations and accurate word forms, especially when describing activities and habits. The vocabulary is sufficient for the task, but greater control of these phrases would make the response more fluent and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “if,” and “although,” and most sentences communicate their meaning. Some grammatical errors remain, but they rarely prevent understanding. For example, “if someone going for a hike first time” needs a finite verb and an article, while “activities that is why” has an agreement and sentence-joining problem. There are also errors in article use and punctuation, as in “a unusual meal” and the spaces before commas in “that is why ,” and “time ,”. Review verb forms, subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the complex sentences you already attempt.
