Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is highly debatable question whether people should explore totally new things or follow same routine. Some individuals prefer to have different things, such as visiting new places and trying various types of dishes. However, others consider to perform same kinds of activities. I agree with the former view, and this essay will discuss both perspectives in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, some people are curious to know about something new in which they are unfamiliar with. This trend helps improve their knowledge by exploring new things that allow them to broaden their horizones. For example, if a person visits tourist places and tries different food, they will be aware about new cultures which can enable them to connect with the globe. Food strongly aligns with traditions because cuisines from India represent Indian culture, similarly other countries special dishes show their own customs that helps travellers to understand various cultures.
Nevertheless, some individuals like to keep doing same activities instead of trying new things in their lives because they have experienced in same types of duties, and they provide them comfort level. For this reason, some would not prefer to take risks or move out from comfort zone due to the fear of failure. To illustrate, an employee has been working in a same field for the last few years. They would like to continue doing same work in the future because of the afraid of sit backs or not interested in learning new things.
In conclusion, same routine gives more comfortable life and reduces the chances of failure. In contrast, I believe that people should explore new activities which allow them to learn different things and gain more information about the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both attitudes and state a clear preference for trying new things, so the response fulfils the main parts of the task. The paragraph on exploration gives relevant reasons—learning about cultures and broadening knowledge—and the food example helps illustrate this. The opposing view is also explained through comfort and fear of failure, with the employee example. However, some points are more fully developed than others: the employee example is asserted rather than showing in detail why familiarity matters, and the benefits of exploration are described broadly. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each attitude more specifically and connect each example directly to the point it supports. Your position is clear, but could be reinforced through the body paragraphs as well as the introduction and conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a conclusion that restates your view. The progression from the benefits of novelty to the appeal of routine is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Nevertheless,” and “In conclusion” make the structure explicit. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some stronger control through purposeful paragraphing and logical sequencing. At times, however, linking feels formulaic, and references such as “this trend” and “they” are not always precise about which people or ideas they refer to. Use a wider range of links between claims and examples, and repeat a key noun where a pronoun could be ambiguous. This would make cohesion smoother and less dependent on set phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “broaden their horizons,” “traditions,” “comfort zone,” and “fear of failure.” These choices help communicate the contrast between curiosity and familiarity, and the cultural example gives you opportunities to use relevant topic vocabulary. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, but some combinations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “consider to perform,” “aware about,” “comfort level,” and “afraid of sit backs.” “Horizones” is also misspelled. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your ideas, but they limit precision and naturalness. Focus on learning vocabulary in common word partnerships, and check spelling and word forms when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if a person visits…” and a reason clause with “because.” Most ideas remain understandable, and the sentence structures allow you to explain causes and examples. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with articles, verb patterns, agreement, and sentence construction. For instance, “whether people should explore” needs an article before “highly debatable question”; “others consider to perform” has an incorrect verb pattern; and “cuisines … show their own customs that helps” has an agreement problem. The sentence about the employee also contains an incomplete construction around “because of the afraid.” Review article use and subject–verb agreement, and check that each clause has a complete, correctly formed structure.
