Student answer (Band 6.0)
IN THIS MODERN ERA, IT IS VERY CONVENIENT FOR INDIVIDUALS TO TRAVEL FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER SO THEY CAN EASILY EXPLORE SOME NEW PLACES, AS WELL AS THEY CAN TRY A VARIETY OF FOOD. BUT ON THE OTHER SIDE, MANY PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE TO SPEND THEIR TIME ON ALL THESE THINGS. IN MY PERSPECTIVE, EXPLORING NEW TASTES AND NEW PLACES IS ONE OF THE BEST ACTIVITIES. THERE ARE MANY REASONS TO BELIEVE SO.
TO COMMENCE WITH, THE INDIVIDUALS WHO BELIEVE IN VISITING NEW SPOTS DO SO BECAUSE THEY WANT TO CAPTURE MEMORABLE MOMENTS IN THEIR EXPERIENCE. FOR EXAMPLE, THEY CAN GET SOMETHING NEW WHICH THEY HAVE NEVER HAD BEFORE, AND THEY TAKE A PHOTO OF IT AND IN FUTURE, WHENEVER THEY SEE IT THEY REFRESH ALL THEIR PAST MEMORIES. FURTHERMORE, PEOPLE CAN LEARN AND TASTE SOMETHING NEW. TO ELABORATE, IF AN INDIVIDUAL GOES TO A NEW COUNTRY, THEN HE OR SHE GET ORIGINAL FLAVOURS OF THAT COUNTRY. AS A RESULT, A PERSON LEARN NEW DISHES.
CONVERSELY, SOME PEOPLE DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS VIEW AND THEY PREFER TO LIVE IN THEIR COMFORT ZONE, WHICH THEY HAVE BUILT OVER MANY YEARS.MOREOVER, HUMAN BEINGS ARE AFRAID TO WASTE THEIR MONEY ON THOSE THINGS WHICH THEY HAVE NEVER TRIED BEFORE BECAUSE ACCORDING TO THEIR SIDE, DOING THINGS WHICH ARE FAMILIAR TO THEM IS MORE ENJOYABLE AS COMPARED TO OTHERS.
TO CONCLUDE, EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN POINT OF VIEW IN THIS MATTER BUT IN MY OPINION, TRYING SOMETHING NEW EVERYTIME IS MORE RELEVANT AS COMPARED TO OTHER VIEWS.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both attitudes and state a clear preference for trying new things, so the response is relevant to the task. The discussion of novelty includes reasons such as making memories and discovering local flavours, with an example of visiting another country. However, these points are only briefly explained, and the argument for familiar routines is less developed: you mention comfort and fear of wasting money but do not illustrate or explore these concerns. The conclusion repeats your preference rather than drawing together the comparison. To strengthen the response, explain why each attitude matters to people and add a specific example for the familiar-choice perspective, while making your own view more fully reasoned.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two attitudes, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To commence with,” “Conversely,” and “To conclude” makes the direction of the discussion easy to follow. This meets the lower-band expectation of clear organisation and shows some progression, but cohesion is not yet consistently flexible. Several transitions feel formulaic, and the first body paragraph moves from memorable moments to learning flavours without a clear link between those ideas. The long opening paragraph also combines background and opinion. Use more precise links between claims and examples, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point before moving to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “memorable moments,” “original flavours,” and “comfort zone,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “In my perspective” and “To elaborate,” though some expressions are unnatural or imprecise. For example, “get something new” and “refresh all their past memories” do not convey the intended ideas naturally, while “everytime” is better written as “every time.” Repetition of “new” and “people” also limits variety. Build precision by learning common collocations for travel, food, and personal preferences, and choose words that express the exact point rather than relying on broad phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and subordinate clauses such as “if an individual goes to a new country” and “whenever they see it.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors are noticeable. In “a person learn new dishes,” the verb should agree with the singular subject; “they can get original flavours” also needs an article or a different construction. The sentence beginning “because according to their side” is awkwardly structured, and punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, including the missing space after “years.” Practise subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, then proofread for punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
