Student answer (Band 5.5)

It has been analysed that there are two types of people. First type of people are those who prefer new experiences such as visiting new places or eat at new restaurants. However, second type of people are not as much as extrovert comparitively. They usually opt for the same places and food again and again instead of trying new one.

On the one hand, people who like to try new adventures everytime are extra ordinary extroverts. Moreover, it also depends on the financial condition of the person. For example, if someone has generational wealth also he or she has built his/her own multimillion business. He or she might has financial feasibility to visit every country which he has never been to, while those people who they are living hand to mouth cannot afford a world tour or try any newly open expensive restaurants.

On the other hand, people who prefer the similar things such as dining out in the same restaurants and vacation trip limited within the country are usually middle class and are corporate employees. For instance, employees usually have a limited annual leaves in which they can only manage a tour to nothern areas of pakistan. Moreover, people with corporate jobs cannot afford any expensive tour or dine outs every weekend. Whether it is about visit a new place or trying a new restaurant. They usually do the things they are familiar with, to keep themselves within the budget.

Conclusively, it can be expressed that it is easy for the people to visit new restaurants and tour the new places who are rich and are doing business. As they do not have any difficuilty with respect to money or annual leaves. However, people belonging to middle class and doing jobs find it harder to try something new. Although everyone wants to experience new things but it is not feasible for everyone. Moreover, it is suggested to take time and money as feasible to spend some quality time on vacations to avoid the stress of daily life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response discusses both preferences and gives a concluding view: people with more money and flexibility can try new places, while those with tighter budgets may repeat familiar choices. This is relevant to the task, but the discussion is only partly developed. The explanation focuses heavily on wealth, employment and annual leave, so it does not fully explore other reasons people may prefer familiarity, such as comfort, routine or anxiety about the unknown. The opinion is also not entirely clear: the conclusion says everyone wants new experiences, but the essay does not establish this as the writer’s view or explain how the two attitudes should be weighed. Develop each attitude with a more balanced reason and a specific example, then state your own position directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. These signposts make the two sides easy to identify. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and several ideas repeat the same point about affordability: for example, the second body paragraph mentions limited income, expensive tours and dining out. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “Whether it is about visit a new place or trying a new restaurant,” which is left as a fragment rather than linked smoothly to the following sentence. Improve cohesion by grouping related reasons, avoiding repetition, and using clear references and complete transitions between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response uses relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial condition,” “generational wealth,” “annual leaves,” “within the budget” and “quality time.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but the range is uneven and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural. Examples include “extra ordinary extroverts,” “financial feasibility,” “newly open expensive restaurants” and “tour the new places.” Spelling errors such as “comparitively,” “nothern” and “difficuilty” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise, natural expressions rather than relying on broad labels such as “rich” and “middle class”; for instance, describe people as having greater disposable income or limited time and resources.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

There are attempts to use complex sentences and conditional structures, such as “if someone has generational wealth…” and the contrast introduced by “while.” However, the range is limited, and complex constructions are often faulty, so errors sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “First type of people are,” “he or she might has,” “people who they are living hand to mouth,” and “it is about visit a new place.” The sentence beginning “Whether it is about…” is also incomplete. Review articles and subject–verb agreement, use the base verb after modal verbs (“might have”), and check that subordinate clauses are attached to a complete main clause. More accurate sentence patterns would make the argument easier to follow.
