Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the book, explaining its influence, and discussing its potential impact on others. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how the book influenced you is quite general, and the description of the book's content is vague. To improve, you should provide more specific examples of the 'life lessons' or 'real-life experience stories' mentioned. Additionally, the tone is slightly confused; you are writing to an editor to suggest a book for an article, but your phrasing 'request you to write something' suggests you want the editor to write it, rather than you contributing your own piece as requested by the magazine.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Initially', 'Moreover', and 'Lastly' to structure your arguments. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas is unclear, such as the transition into the final paragraph. Referencing is occasionally imprecise, making it difficult to determine exactly what you are referring to in certain sentences. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic descriptors like 'famous writer' and 'real life experience'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'I crease awareness' (likely meant 'increase') and 'be a patience' (should be 'be patient'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary and ensure that your word choices are accurate in context. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to incorporate more descriptive adjectives and precise nouns to convey your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'I read this almost one month before' (should be 'ago'), 'I able to doevery in a manner' (missing verb and incorrect word form), and 'owing to I crease awareness' (incorrect grammatical structure). While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Proofreading your work for these common errors will significantly improve your score.
