Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The student has adequately addressed the task by describing the book, its author, and how it influenced them. They mention that the book is an autobiography of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and provide a brief summary of its content. However, they could enhance their response by offering more specific examples of how the book influenced them and clarifying what actions they intend to take based on this influence. Additionally, the conclusion lacks a clear recommendation for its potential influence on others.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The coherence and cohesion of the letter are present, as the ideas generally flow from one point to another. However, some sentences lack clear connections, like the transition from the book's content to its influence on the writer's motivation. The phrase "I think this book would influence the new reader, must to do somethings for the nation" could be better integrated into the overall argument. Paragraph breaks could also improve readability and structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The letter displays an adequate range of vocabulary related to the task. However, terms like "than anyother autobiographies" and "creating a feeling in me" suggest a need for more precise language. Phrasing such as "it creates a feeling in me" could be improved to convey the writer's emotion more effectively. Moreover, the use of the term "feedback" when the writer is actually sharing an opinion or personal experience is not appropriate in this context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The grammatical range in this letter is somewhat limited, with a few inaccuracies. For instance, "it include" should be "it includes," and "usfull" is a spelling error; the correct spelling is "useful." The phrase "must to do somethings" should be rephrased to "must do something." Despite these errors, the overall meaning is clear, but improving grammatical accuracy will enhance the overall impression of the writing.
Overall feedback
The student has successfully conveyed their thoughts about a book that impacted them, adhering to the task requirements while maintaining a generally clear structure. Stronger examples of the book’s influence and clearer recommendations for potential readers would enhance the letter. Additionally, improving grammatical accuracy and diversifying vocabulary will strengthen the overall effectiveness of the writing. Aim for more precise expressions and unexpected insights into how the book could inspire other readers, as this could enrich your message significantly.
