Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: describing the book, explaining its influence, and discussing its potential impact on others. The tone is appropriate for a magazine contribution. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention that the book changed your way of thinking about saving, providing a specific example of a lesson learned from the book would have strengthened your response. The content is relevant, but the explanation of why it would influence others is a bit repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is expanded with more detail and specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'If', which assist in connecting your sentences. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and punctuation errors, such as the lack of capitalization for 'i' and the inconsistent use of commas. The transition between ideas is sometimes mechanical. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your paragraph structure is clearly defined by consistent indentation or spacing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'financial education', 'investing', and 'creative'. However, there are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'Kiyoaski' (Kiyosaki), 'bad dad' (Rich Dad Poor Dad), and 'provide a beneficial'. These errors do not prevent understanding, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and ensure you proofread for common spelling mistakes and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an attempt to use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the conditional 'If they learn this book it can be...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'this book provide'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'before that i am not good'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and sentence boundaries. While your meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors indicate a need for more careful attention to basic grammatical rules and sentence construction.
