Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the book, explaining its influence, and discussing its potential impact on others. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of ideas. The description of the book is quite vague, and the explanation of how it influenced you lacks specific detail or personal narrative. To improve, you should expand on the content of the book and provide a more concrete example of how it changed your daily routine. Because the response is under-length, it fails to fully develop the required points, resulting in a lower score for task achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction and body paragraphs. You have used basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is somewhat mechanical, and the connection between sentences is occasionally weak. For example, the transition between the book's content and its influence could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, which helps the reader follow the structure of your argument. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that the progression of ideas feels more natural and less like a list.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several spelling errors ('infulening', 'mendtiond', 'comman', 'explaination') and word choice issues that hinder the quality of the writing. You rely on fairly simple language to express your ideas. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary related to time management, the errors in spelling and collocation suggest a limited range. To improve, focus on proofreading your work to catch basic spelling mistakes and try to incorporate more precise, academic vocabulary to describe the impact of the book rather than relying on general terms like 'change people's lives'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Examples include 'it's name suggest' (should be 'its name suggests'), 'less important on' (should be 'less important ones'), and 'concepts appears' (should be 'concepts appear'). These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of accuracy in basic subject-verb agreement and pluralization prevents a higher score. You should focus on reviewing basic grammar rules, particularly regarding possessives, plurals, and verb tense consistency.
