Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly identify the book, explain its influence on your perspective regarding time and life, and suggest its potential impact on others. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the description of the book's content is quite brief and lacks specific examples of the concepts discussed. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detail or illustrative examples. The tone is appropriate for a magazine contribution, and the purpose of the letter is clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the task. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Since I read this book' and 'With the help of this book' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the description of the book and your personal experience could be smoother. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentences feel slightly disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words would help create a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite basic. Phrases like 'perfect person' and 'enjoy my life smoothy' are somewhat simplistic or slightly unnatural in collocation. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'fast paced routine' and 'priorities', which is positive. However, there is a lack of less common lexical items that would demonstrate a wider range. To improve, focus on using more precise adjectives and adverbs, and ensure that word forms (e.g., 'smoothly' instead of 'smoothy') are used correctly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally hinder the flow. For example, 'I am totally inspired from this book' should be 'by this book', and 'they definitely motivate from this one' is grammatically incorrect. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'The book name is'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall accuracy of the writing.
