Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: describing the book, explaining its influence, and recommending it to others. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the description of 'Atomic Habits' is a bit vague, and the explanation of how it influenced you lacks specific, personal examples, relying instead on general statements. To reach a higher band, try to provide more concrete details about how the book changed your specific actions or mindset. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an editor, and the purpose is clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'In addition' (though 'Furthermore' was used, the flow could be improved). However, some transitions are a bit mechanical, and the connection between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the book's description and its influence is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, but there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors. For example, 'put positive impact' should be 'had a positive impact', and 'teach me stays motivate' is grammatically incorrect and uses the wrong word form. Phrases like 'trait of their benevolent and industrious' are also unclear and do not fit the context. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that the words you choose are used in the correct grammatical form to convey your meaning precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
Your writing shows a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it teach me'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'get up early' instead of 'getting up early'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these errors are persistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly the use of gerunds after prepositions and consistent verb tenses, before attempting more complex structures.
