Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am articulating this letter to appreciate you for your amazing article that I came across recently 'The book that influenced me most'.
This book included how at certain levels of your life, random things shows up and how eventually that affects our mind that we end up making decisions either in hurry or in non serious ways.
However, it may have affected badly for other people but the ways you expressed how you handle such situations on daily basis has influenced me to stay calm and motivated in every phase of life which has influenced me in making by far the best decisions of my life related to career or personal growth.
In my opinion, this book should be available online and on-stores as this is one of the most genuine book I have came across and it would not only positively influence the personality of a person but will also help them in long run.
I appreciate your work and wish this article recieve the hype it deserves.
Yours sincerily,
Akshay Akshay

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You described the book's content, explained its influence on your personal development, and provided an opinion on its potential impact on others. However, the description of the book's content is somewhat vague; phrases like 'random things shows up' lack clarity and specificity, making it difficult for the reader to understand the actual subject matter of the book. To improve, ensure your ideas are more fully developed with concrete examples or clearer explanations. Despite this, the letter maintains a consistent tone and fulfills the requirements of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'However' and 'In my opinion' to transition between points. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the transition between the book's content and your personal reaction. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationship between your ideas is more explicitly stated. Overall, the message is easy to follow, and the paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, though it is somewhat limited. You use some appropriate phrases like 'personal growth' and 'long run'. However, there are instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'articulating this letter' (instead of 'writing'), 'on-stores' (which is non-standard), and 'recieve the hype' (which is too informal for this context). To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary and ensure that your word choices are appropriate for a formal letter to an editor. Avoid overly colloquial expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'random things shows up' (subject-verb agreement), 'it may have affected badly for other people' (incorrect preposition/structure), and 'one of the most genuine book' (plural noun needed). Additionally, there is a spelling error in the closing: 'sincerily'. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and pluralization to improve your accuracy.
