Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: describing the book, explaining its influence, and discussing its potential impact on others. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented. However, the development of the ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, while you mention the book's impact on your finances, providing a more specific example of a financial decision you changed would have strengthened the response. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an editor, and the purpose is clear throughout. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is expanded with more depth and personal insight.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'As a result' and 'In this chapter' to link ideas. However, the flow between some sentences is slightly mechanical, and the transition between the description of the book and your personal experience could be smoother. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentences feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that ideas flow more naturally from one to the next would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'money management', 'compounding investment', and 'financial advisors'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'available physical copy' (should be 'available as a physical copy') and 'most selling book' (should be 'best-selling book'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands. Attempting to use more sophisticated collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing would help improve your score in this area.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'I would like to share a book which influenced me a most' (should be 'the most'), 'I convinced with this concept' (should be 'I was convinced by'), and 'help you for your an article' (should be 'help you with your article'). These errors are frequent but do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and the proper use of articles. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will also help boost your score.
