Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt only partially, which places it at this level. You do attempt all three bullet points by mentioning the book's topic regarding children and social media, explaining how it helped you educate parents, and touching upon its relevance to others. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, your description of what the book is about is quite vague, stating that it 'contains about the children of enaging Social media,' and your thoughts on whether it would influence other people are brief and lack extension. To move to a higher level, you need to fully develop your ideas with clearer explanations and more specific details regarding the book's content and its broad appeal to readers.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a basic organization to your letter, evident in the greeting, the paragraphs addressing different points, and the appropriate sign-off. However, the overall progression is limited, and some connections between sentences are awkward or repetitive, such as the frequent restarting of ideas without smooth transitional phrases. While paragraphing is attempted, the division of your thoughts creates uneven sections, and referencing is occasionally unclear (for instance, what 'this' or 'it' refers to in subsequent sentences). To improve in coherence and cohesion, you should work on creating a clearer logical flow between your sentences and paragraphs, utilizing a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices to guide the reader seamlessly through your arguments.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary choice is limited and minimally adequate for the task. You make noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as writing 'Mindfullness' with an extra 'l', 'enaging' instead of 'engaging', and 'conrtibute me a lot of learnings'. Furthermore, phrases like 'screening time has a big impact to the child' and 'brain child delayed' show awkward collocations and imprecise vocabulary usage. To achieve a higher score, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary with greater precision, ensuring correct spelling, appropriate word forms, and natural collocations suited to an informal or semi-formal letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your writing displays a limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences, with your attempts at more complex structures frequently containing errors. There are frequent grammatical errors involving verb tenses, prepositions, articles, and word order. Examples include 'book called the "Mindfullness"', 'Parents introduce to their child the gadget', 'As i read the book It helps the parent handling children on how to proper communicate', and 'It is a Honored and privelage'. These frequent errors require the reader to decode your meaning. To improve, you should practice using a wider variety of complex sentence forms with accurate punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and correct prepositional patterns.
