Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You successfully cover all parts of the task by describing Atomic Habits, explaining how it helped you develop discipline and complete goals, and stating why it would benefit other people. However, your ideas are slightly uneven in their development. While you adequately mention what the book is about, the explanation of its impact and its general appeal remains somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, stating that you 'used to read this book everyday' touches upon its routine application, but this point could have been extended further to fully explore its deeper personal significance. To reach the next level, you need to ensure every bullet point of the prompt is thoroughly expanded with rich details and clear examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your letter presents a coherent overall arrangement where the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow. You start with an appropriate opening greeting, move into the description of the book, explain its influence, and conclude with its wider impact on readers. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty due to the lack of proper paragraphing and basic transition words. The text is presented as a dense block of writing rather than distinct paragraphs for each main idea, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the abrupt transition when discussing the author. To improve, you should organize your thoughts into clear paragraphs and use a wider, more natural variety of cohesive devices to link your sentences smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate vocabulary range to communicate your thoughts about the book, successfully using task-related terms such as 'habits', 'goals', 'author', and 'discipline'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout your response that reveal a limited lexical control. For example, words like 'influence' are confused with 'influenced', 'dicepline' is misspelled, 'experices' lacks letters, and phrases like 'back days' or 'skiped from my mind' are unnatural or imprecise. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they restrict your score. To achieve a higher band, you need to broaden your lexical repertoire, use less common vocabulary with greater precision, and pay closer attention to standard spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing displays a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as your relative clause in 'the book that influence me so much'. There are several grammatical errors in verb forms, tense consistency, and punctuation, including missing capital letters at the start of sentences, omitted articles, and incorrect verb tenses like 'the book called ATOMIC HABITS' instead of 'is called' or 'was called'. Furthermore, expressions like 'how life could be better' and 'with the time being i fel' contain minor structural inaccuracies. These errors occur regularly but rarely impede communication. To progress further, you should aim for greater accuracy in complex sentence structures, improve your control over verb tenses, and refine your punctuation and capitalization.
