Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You attempt to cover the requested points by referring to the book’s subject, its effect on your habits and career, and its possible value to other readers. The personal impact is the clearest part: you explain that it encouraged independence, discipline, time management and risk-taking. However, the book itself is not identified, and the description is confusing: “you described the habits of the youth” and “become more pessimist” do not make clear what the book is about. The prediction that it could influence others is also broad and not supported with a specific reason. The letter’s purpose is apparent, but the ideas remain limited and the reader may be unsure what book you mean. Give its title and explain its central message and influence more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has some organisation: it opens by stating its purpose, uses separate paragraphs, and includes linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore.” The personal influence is placed later in the letter, which gives the reader some sense of progression. However, the sequence is not consistently clear. The first two paragraphs repeat the claim that the book can change lives, while the shift from addressing the editor as “you” to discussing the book as “this book” makes references difficult to follow. The final thanks also arrives without a clear closing transition. Organise the letter around the three task points—book content, personal influence, and likely effect on others—and use pronouns that clearly identify the book or its author.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt some topic-appropriate vocabulary, including “transformative impact,” “consistent routine,” “time management” and “risk taking.” These phrases help communicate the book’s personal importance. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “influrnced,” “gauranter,” “routne” and “discplane.” Some expressions are also unnatural or convey the wrong meaning: “become more pessimist” appears inconsistent with chasing dreams, and “I can become the guarantor” does not clearly express confidence in the book’s effect. Choose precise, familiar wording before attempting more elaborate phrases, and proofread spelling and word forms. This would make your ideas easier to follow and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You try to use both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional idea about readers implementing the book’s suggestions. However, the longer structures are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “If anyone read this masterpiece, I can become…” has an unclear subject and verb pattern, while “if they will implement … can achieve” lacks a clear grammatical structure. There are also problems with agreement and sentence construction in “it is vividly shows,” and punctuation creates a run-on sentence in “This book has had … life, I frequently struggled.” Use shorter, complete sentences first, then build accurate clauses with clear subjects and verbs. Check tense, agreement, and sentence boundaries carefully.
