Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir and Madam,
I am writing to provide a feedback about the book that influenced my most for you magazine.
The name of the book was Atomic habits by James clear. This book was all about how the small changes in daily routine make big difference. One of my friends gifted my this book on my last birthday and I believe after reading this book it has changed my life.
Actually, over the past few months I felt demotivate and anxious because I could not complete my any tasks before deadline. However, after reading that book I regularly changed some habits and schedule tasks with priority I have managed my work. Now I complete my all tasks before the deadline. This book mainly focused on tidiness and organising things.
I believe this books will influence other people because due to the hectic schedules and long working hours individuals have the problems related to task acheivement. This book will teach them how to become proactive and prioritise their tasks.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope this book will influence other people.
Yours faithfully,
Parminder

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The letter covers all three requested points: it identifies Atomic Habits and its focus on small routine changes, explains how applying its ideas helped you manage tasks, and predicts that busy people could benefit. The personal example about feeling anxious and then meeting deadlines makes the influence clear. The description of the book itself is less fully developed, however: “tidiness and organising things” is mentioned without explaining how this relates to the book’s central message. The prediction about other readers is relevant but quite general. To strengthen the response, give one specific principle from the book and explain how it could help a particular type of reader. The magazine contribution is clear, though the opening could be phrased more naturally and directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information is arranged in a sensible sequence: you introduce the book, describe its effect on you, then consider its value to other readers. Separate paragraphs help the reader follow these stages, and transitions such as “However” and “Now” make the change in your circumstances easy to understand. The closing is appropriate for a formal letter. Some connections are less smooth, particularly “after reading that book I regularly changed some habits and schedule tasks with priority I have managed my work,” where several actions and results are compressed together. The final sentence also repeats the prediction already made in the preceding paragraph. Use clearer sentence boundaries and avoid restating the same point to make the progression more fluent.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “daily routine,” “deadline,” “hectic schedules,” “proactive,” and “prioritise.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and the reader can understand the book’s practical influence. There are, however, several inaccurate word choices, forms, and spellings that reduce precision: “provide a feedback,” “influenced my most,” “demotivate,” and “acheivement.” “Tidiness” is also not clearly connected to the book’s main ideas. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, describe the book as helping you “build effective habits” rather than focusing on “tidiness” unless that is a specific idea it discusses.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response includes both straightforward statements and some longer structures, such as the sentence beginning “I believe this books will influence other people because…”. Most meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors occur in basic patterns and in longer sentences. Examples include “One of my friends gifted my this book,” “I could not complete my any tasks,” and “I complete my all tasks”; these show problems with pronouns, word order, and determiners. There are also tense and agreement issues in “I felt demotivate” and “this books will influence.” The sentence about changing habits and scheduling tasks needs clearer structure, perhaps by separating the actions from the result. Practise accurate noun phrases and maintain consistent verb forms while retaining some complex sentences.
