Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Respected News Editor,
My name is Josh.I have read about an article in your news paper regarding "The book that influenced me most". It is quite fascinating for me.
The book, which I want to mention here is "Wellbeing Matters" by "Roch Killa".It is an amazing writing about the connection between the health issues and life style modifications.
I have been suffereing from blood pressure, and high cholestrol for long period of time. Moreover,I was taking regular medication. However, all in vain. Luckily, then I came cross to this book, and I found that medication is not the sole solution.I changed my health habbits accordingly, and now I am living a healthy life without medications.
I would suggest this book to everyone, who has been struggling with health related issues. It will definatley assist the people to mitigate the risk factors to their health problems since, writer has given strong evidences about health and behaviour in a very practical way.
I hope this book would be a helping hand for community.
Yours sincerely,
Josh

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points: you identify the book and its subject, explain how it affected your health choices, and recommend it to readers facing similar problems. The account of changing your habits after reading it gives the letter a clear personal focus, while the reference to practical evidence supports your recommendation. The main limitation is that the book’s content is described quite broadly as being about health and lifestyle, and the influence on other people is asserted rather than illustrated. A brief example of a specific idea from the book, followed by how it could help a wider range of readers, would make the response more fully developed. The purpose and position remain clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter follows a clear progression: introduction, description of the book, personal impact, recommendation, and closing. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and transitions such as “Moreover,” “However,” and “Luckily” guide the reader through the account. The contrast between medication and lifestyle changes is especially easy to follow. Some links are less smooth or precise, however: “Luckily, then I came cross to this book” interrupts the flow, and “since” in the final recommendation makes the relationship between the evidence and the book’s usefulness slightly awkward. Use more natural transitions and ensure each linking word expresses the intended relationship. Overall, the organisation is logical and the message is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including relevant expressions such as “life style modifications,” “sole solution,” “risk factors,” and “strong evidences.” These choices show an attempt to discuss health and the book’s practical value rather than relying only on basic vocabulary. Some spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “suffereing,” “cholestrol,” “habbit,” and “definatley.” There are also unnatural combinations such as “came cross to this book” and “a helping hand for community.” Choose accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, “came across this book” and “support the community” would sound more natural. Meaning remains clear, but more consistent control would make the vocabulary more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including the contrast in “However, all in vain” and the conditional idea “It will definitely assist the people … since…”. The sequence of past experience and present outcome is also understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, prepositions, and sentence construction: “for long period of time” needs an article, “came cross to this book” has an incorrect preposition pattern, and “I hope this book would be a helping hand” uses an awkward tense construction. Punctuation and spacing around sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise accurate sentence patterns and review articles and verb forms; this will help you retain variety while making the writing more consistently controlled.
