Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover the three requested points: the book concerns healthy living, it changed your own habits, and you believe it could affect other readers. The personal detail that you had not previously considered yourself health-conscious helps make the influence clear. However, the book is identified only by a generic title-like phrase, and its contents are described broadly as advice on routines; a specific example of a lesson or recommendation would develop this part. The claim that it is “guaranteed” to influence most people is also asserted rather than explained. The purpose of writing to a magazine editor is not fully clear, since the opening asks for attention rather than introducing a contribution to the article. Develop the book’s content and your reasons for recommending it more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, separate paragraphs about the book and its effects, and a closing. This helps the reader identify the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: “Somebody, recommend ne this book” is followed by several effects without a clear link between them, and the final paragraph moves from other readers’ busy schedules to the prediction that they will become “fitness freaks.” Some linking expressions, such as “Firslty” and “For sure,” are either awkwardly used or do not clarify the relationship between ideas. Use clearer transitions and organise each paragraph around one main point, with supporting explanation. The closing sentence also has an unclear word order, which weakens the letter’s ending.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “healthy lifestyle,” “daily routines,” “hectic schedule,” and “influenced.” This gives you enough language to communicate the general subject and your personal response. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the message harder to follow: “seek your attention towards,” “get fitness freaks,” and “hear you from about this concern” do not sound natural in this context. Spelling errors such as “healthcousious,” “schdeule,” and “guranteed” also reduce clarity. Aim for precise, natural phrases, for example, explain that the book “encouraged me to adopt healthier habits” and that it “could motivate other readers.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a contrast between your former habits and the change the book brought about. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “the book mentioned in the former paragraph is all about” does not fit the intended past-tense meaning, while “this book will helps others” has an incorrect verb form. In “Some think they are lazy they do not have times,” two ideas are joined without suitable punctuation or a conjunction. Practise building accurate sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses only when you can control their grammar. Check subject–verb agreement and tense before submitting.
