Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you identify Ikigai, describe its focus on living longer and better, explain that it encouraged healthier living, and say readers may benefit from its advice. The personal effect is relevant, especially your comment that you experienced a change in your lifestyle. However, the book’s content and your own experience are only briefly explained, so some ideas remain under-developed. For example, you mention “the basics” and a change in your lifestyle without giving a specific practice or describing what changed. The prediction about other readers is also quite general. To strengthen the response, add one or two concrete details about the book’s message and a specific example of its influence on you or a reader.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, separate paragraphs about the book and its influence, a paragraph for readers, and a closing. This makes the main points easy to locate. You also use linking expressions such as “Additionally” and “Thus” to connect ideas. Some transitions, however, feel mechanical or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas; “So the book is very interesting” is an abrupt move into the description, while “Thus” introduces a conclusion that is not fully supported by the preceding general advice. References such as “the basics” are not specific enough for the reader to know exactly which ideas you mean. Use more natural transitions and make links between claims explicit, while keeping the paragraph structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the topic, with relevant expressions such as “healthy living,” “significant impact,” and “daily eating.” You also attempt more specific language, including “lifestyle” and “influenced.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “contibution,” “upcomming,” “heplfull,” and “publition.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “bring attention toward the book” and “change there posture” do not express your meaning clearly. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise wording for the book’s advice and your personal changes would make the letter clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use mostly straightforward sentences and attempt some longer structures, such as “By following the basics of this book I experience huge change in my lifestyle.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “its been written by japanese” needs a correctly formed verb and article, and “a people from japan who usualy lives” has problems with number and subject–verb agreement. In “I think they follow the basics,” the verb form does not fit the intended meaning; a modal such as “could” would make the prediction clearer. There are also punctuation and sentence-boundary issues, including the comma before “people might feel.” Practise accurate clauses, agreement, and articles while varying sentence patterns.
