Student answer (Band 6.5)

All human being has their birthplace. Where they are live in child, old and younger age. Few people are interest to change their born place and most of them live near to where they take birth and make memories of childhood. Both situations have their pros and cores. I explain in following paragraphs.

First of all, we discuss about advantages that our birthplace is always special for us because it has all our childhood memories. And also, where we born there is always a family bond and friend of our small age. Our neighbors are well known about us. Moreover we fully aware about city and state culture and people. For example, if we need help at night in emergency situation then we all have knowledge that where we go for help and who can stand with us in that problem. Although in new place we always face difficulties in starting because no one knows about us and we are also unaware about others.

Secondly. if we see disadvantage perspective if we want to grow and doing something in our life extraordinary then birthplace left is best option. Because as we see even a ''BIRDS CANNOT LEARN FLY IF THEY NEVER LEFT THEIR NEST''. For example, if you live in town and you have skills but in town you cannot get right job according to your abilities. Then for better job its mandatory to move in city where you grow. So, leaving born place is best option.

In conclusion, its all depend upon person-to-person weather they want to live close to born place or leave for better future. If we give preference to our memories, then best option live their birthplace we want to open more door for life then best to move from birthplace.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying, advantages, and disadvantages. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. While the essay identifies reasons (memories, family bonds) and advantages/disadvantages, the explanation remains superficial. For instance, the section on disadvantages is brief and relies on a metaphorical quote rather than detailed analysis. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or deeper reasoning. The position is clear, but the overall development lacks the depth required for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'First of all', 'Secondly', 'In conclusion'). Additionally, some transitions are awkward, such as 'if we see disadvantage perspective'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, which disrupts the flow of ideas. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'best', and 'help'. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'pros and cores' (should be 'pros and cons') and 'birthplace left is best option'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and occasional errors in collocation limit the score. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to migration, urbanisation, and personal development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('All human being has'), article usage ('in city'), and sentence fragments ('Secondly. if we see...'). Some sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'Where they are live in child, old and younger age'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips to improve your accuracy.
