Student answer (Band 6.0)
Home always bring the best memories in everyone's life, and there is no surprise that some people choose to live most of their life close to where they were born. There are plethora of reasons on why they do this, and there is both advantages and disadvantages to this trend. Inherited land, family business, and self reliant are some of the advantages, whereas the disadvantages are limited career growth, less exposure to world outside, and living a selfish life. In this essay, we will discuss some broader views of what we have discussed above.
One reason why people opt to live most of their life near to their native place is that, their parents will give them all the assets, once they get old. This will secure their life with less to no liabilities, and spend money that they have earned for their personal pleasure. For example, in India, parents transfer all of their hard earned money and assets to their children when they are old with only one condition that their children should look after them.
Another reason could be that, they can acquire their family owned business and by that way, they don't need to look for other job opportunities. Moreover, being less interactive to people will make then self reliant and confident to face any hardships in their life.
However, this would restrict people to move or think out of the world even though, there are more opportunities for them. They either live by doing their family owned business or do some local jobs to meet their daily needs. There is basically no career growth to people who live in this manner. They will have less exposure to the society and will be conservative and live a selfish life.
To conclude, the advantages of people who spend their entire life near to their paternal home is that, they will get land, business and properties from their parents, which will make them less liable, and bring more balance to their personal and professional life. This disadvantages are, living a life without having any concerns about others, less knowledge about the world, and not getting promoted in their professional life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons, advantages, and disadvantages are identified. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the claim that living near one's birthplace leads to a 'selfish life' is asserted but not logically explained or supported with sufficient depth. The introduction provides a clear overview, and the position is consistent throughout. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your arguments with more nuanced reasoning rather than listing points. For example, instead of just stating that family business provides a job, explain how this impacts long-term professional adaptability or personal identity.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the phrase 'what we have discussed above' in the introduction, which is redundant. Overall, the progression of ideas is coherent, but the use of cohesive devices could be more varied and natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'liabilities', 'assets', and 'conservative'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'there is both advantages' (should be 'are'), 'less interactive to people' (should be 'less interaction with'), and 'think out of the world' (an incorrect idiom; 'think outside the box' is the standard). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Home always bring', 'There is both advantages'), missing articles ('to society', 'in their professional life'), and punctuation errors. Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'by that way, they don't need to look for other job opportunities'. While you attempt complex structures, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve your score.
