Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying in one's birthplace, as well as the advantages and disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as family responsibilities and financial stability, and the counter-arguments regarding personal growth are clear. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on 'financial benefits' could be more deeply explored with more specific examples rather than general statements. The position is consistent throughout, but the overall depth of analysis is more characteristic of a Band 6, as some points are repetitive and lack nuanced exploration.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The main reason', 'Apart from this', 'In contrast', and 'To sum up', which help guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the phrase 'at sample place' which appears twice and is used incorrectly. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the referencing is occasionally imprecise, and the flow between sentences could be smoother to achieve a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'pefer', 'reveive', 'fimilar', 'journary', 'langauges', 'majorty') and word choice issues, such as using 'sample place' instead of 'same place' or 'the same location'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'career development' and 'financial', the frequent errors in spelling and collocation occasionally impede the flow of reading. To reach a higher band, the student needs to focus on accurate spelling and more sophisticated collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('it generate', 'they do not required'), incorrect verb forms ('they could facing', 'they are already build'), and missing articles ('at sample place'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to verb tenses and sentence construction is necessary.
