Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons, advantages, and disadvantages. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited. The arguments regarding 'family roots' and 'moral values' are repetitive and lack specific examples or depth. The discussion of disadvantages is vague, mentioning 'modern thinking' and 'family restrictions' without explaining how these conflict in a real-world context. To reach a higher band, you need to provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples to support your points, rather than simply stating them. The position is clear, but the overall development remains superficial throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'To start with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand', they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly (e.g., 'To moving forward with advantages'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'some moral values has punishment for some people', where the connection to the previous argument is weak. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks logical flow, making it difficult for the reader to follow your line of reasoning consistently.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use basic phrases like 'live in born place' and 'enjoy their life'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'they are believes in' instead of 'they believe in' and 'merits and demerits behind this topics'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. To improve, you should focus on learning collocations and using more academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'upbringing', 'cultural heritage', or 'generational conflict', rather than relying on simple, repetitive language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'most of people want', 'some moral values has'), incorrect verb forms ('which are teach by'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'There are so many reason behind this'). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. Significant improvement in basic grammar, specifically verb tenses and pluralisation, is required to achieve a higher score.
