Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying in one's birthplace, as well as the advantages and disadvantages. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention emotional connections and support systems, the points could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. For instance, the disadvantage regarding 'limited growth' is mentioned but not fully explored in terms of career or personal development. The position is clear, but the overall depth of the argument is more characteristic of a Band 6, as some points remain slightly underdeveloped.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'For instance', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as in the second paragraph where the list of items (schools, parks, friends) lacks a smooth transition. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more cohesive to improve the overall readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on fairly common, simple phrases like 'good lifestyle' and 'bad phase'. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'living in the close place from their birth place' and 'they will stood besides them'. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and ensure that collocations are used accurately to convey your ideas with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'Some people are of view to spend entire life', 'they might ended up', and 'they will not able to explore'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and capitalization after commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to suggest a lack of control over more complex structures, which is a key feature of the Band 6 level.
