Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, covering reasons, advantages, and disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the discussion on 'comfort zone' and 'emotional bond' is repetitive, and the section on advantages relies heavily on a specific example about grandparents rather than exploring broader societal or economic benefits. The conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence, which prevents a full summary of the position. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more depth and ensure the essay is fully completed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Second one', and 'To conclude'. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. Some sentences lack logical connection, such as the sudden shift to discussing grandparents in the third paragraph. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the abrupt ending of the text negatively impacts the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of unnatural word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'they are feel facilitate' and 'they are happy to took a responsibility'. Spelling errors like 'retaired', 'neccessary', and 'tis' also occur. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited to common, everyday language, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('most of parents are working'), incorrect verb forms ('happy to took'), and missing articles or prepositions ('in a home town', 'is limited resources'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and spacing. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and suggest a lack of control over more complex grammatical structures.
