Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is true that an increasing number of people spend their whole life same place where they were born. This is because they know about their neighbor and their surrounding how friends and relative help his or her during tough times. While this trend has several benefits, it also has some drawbacks which we can not neglect them. This essay will discuss both advantages and disadvantages.

To begin with, why people like to live their birthplaces. Firstly, they know about their surroundings people's behavior who always stand with his or her during any kind of need For instance, sick during night time as many people have no vehicle to go hospital so they ask to neighbor and good neighbor never say no to their neighbor Due to which good bonding create each other and they do not like to live other place. Secondly, many old people love to birthplace and all facilities they have in their home such as village provide fresh fruit and vegetables and good nature to survive which leads to old people do not like to move another place. Consequently, they spend their whole life on same place from their birth to death.

On the other hand, there are some disadvantages to survive same place since childhood to until death. People do not know about new things such as technology how work to improve productivity and better result for good income, moreover improve education and provide an excessive amount of facilities likely complete home task[washing cloth by washing machine] in few minute. Furthermore, people have few chance to meet with different culture of people and know about rituals of other how they follow to them. Hence, people will stuck in same phase and do not enjoy new things which is change according to time in the world.

In conclusion, living same place from childhood has both advantages and disadvantages. I believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying in one's birthplace, and the advantages and disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation regarding 'old people' and 'fresh fruit' is a bit simplistic and lacks depth. The position is clear, but the arguments could be more thoroughly extended with more sophisticated examples. The essay covers the requirements, but the analysis remains at a surface level, which prevents it from reaching a higher band. The conclusion is brief and does not fully summarize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic progression of ideas, and cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'On the other hand' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are issues with referencing; for instance, the phrase 'which we can not neglect them' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall coherence of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. The student uses basic terms like 'good bonding', 'tough times', and 'new things'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'survive same place' instead of 'remain in the same place' or 'live in the same place'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or academic vocabulary limits the score. The student attempts to use some topic-specific language, but it is often used incorrectly or in an unnatural way.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include missing articles ('to go hospital'), incorrect verb forms ('good bonding create each other'), and awkward phrasing ('people will stuck in same phase'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of brackets and missing commas. While the student attempts complex sentences, they are often marred by errors in subject-verb agreement and word order. The frequency of these errors suggests that the student has not yet mastered complex grammatical structures.
