Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying near one's birthplace, and the advantages and disadvantages. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation regarding the 'disadvantages' is fragmented and difficult to follow, particularly the sentence about 'engineering needs equipments'. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments lack depth and clarity in places. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more coherent examples and ensure that the link between your ideas and the prompt is explicit throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'To draw the curtains'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To cap it all' or 'To draw the curtains' (which is an unusual idiom for a conclusion). Additionally, some sentences lack clear internal cohesion, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed at times. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words more naturally would improve this score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'utilize their whole lifespan', 'feeling of oweing', and 'stay connated'. You attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, which is good, but the lack of precision in these attempts suggests a limited range. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that the words you choose are used in the correct context. Avoid over-using informal or non-standard phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('one has grown to the place where he did education'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('who might be the better than one of them'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to cause some difficulty. You should focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles to ensure your writing is more accurate.
