Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary society, there are numerous people who prefers to live their whole life in a same place where they were borned. There are several reasons behind this attitudes. I will mention some of these before highlighting their advantages and disadvantages.
However, mostly people spend their live living near their childhood place because of several reasons. Firstly, they are not willing to leave their comfort zone. Secondly, many people have certain emotional attachment to that place. Thirdly, due to the unwillingness of parents who do not allow a person to move. Lastly, lack of resources could be a major factor. For instance, if a person move from one place to another then he should have enough money to provide a bread to his family until he got a suitable job.
As far as benefits are concerned, there are many advantages of living near to the family place such as, a person can get an emotional support from his loved ones in any difficult situation. Besides, children can take guidance and advice from their grand parents. Additionally, during festivals a person can be satisfied by seeing that all generation are enjoying in one roof.
In contrast, living in a same place has several drawback too. For instance, a person's growth becomes cease because he is not willing to come from his shelter. In addition, a person could missed several opportunities that can knock his door if, he would faced many challenges in the way to become a successful.
In my opinion, it is very necessary to leave the comfort zone and take risk in order to achieve his goals. Moreover, by living in different places a person can get a chance to meet variety of people hence he can learn more about different people mindset.
To conclude, it totally depend on person's choice. some people become satisfied when they spend their life at ancestor's place while others accept challenges to become successful in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying, advantages, and disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as emotional attachment and financial constraints. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For example, the point about 'lack of resources' is introduced but not fully explored in terms of how it specifically relates to staying in one's birthplace versus moving. The position is clear, but the arguments could benefit from more detailed elaboration or specific examples to reach a higher band. The structure is logical, covering each requirement of the prompt in separate paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'In contrast', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader through the arguments. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, though there are occasional issues with pronoun agreement (e.g., 'he' used for a general person). Overall, the progression of ideas is logical, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task, meeting the requirements for a band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'contemporary society' and 'emotional attachment'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'a same place', 'borned' (incorrect past participle), 'provide a bread', and 'growth becomes cease'. These errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a limited range of precise vocabulary. To improve, the student should focus on collocations and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement ('people who prefers'), incorrect verb forms ('borned', 'would faced'), and article usage ('a same place'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding the intended meaning. The punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure lacks the variety and accuracy required for a higher band. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and sentence construction would significantly improve the score.
