Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying reasons, advantages, and disadvantages. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on financial stability is brief and lacks depth. Furthermore, the response is 241 words long, failing to meet the 250-word minimum requirement. This under-length impacts the overall development of the arguments, as the points could have been expanded with more specific examples or analysis. To improve, ensure you fully explore each point and provide more detailed explanations to meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Another reason', 'However', and 'In conclusion' are used to signal the progression of ideas. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Well their are some advantages'. The transition between ideas could be smoother to improve the overall coherence of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'comfortable', 'stable', and 'people'. While the meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there are some errors in word choice, such as 'to stable' instead of 'to achieve stability'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and collocations related to the topic of migration and lifestyle.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Examples include 'Well their are some advantages' (homophone error: 'their' vs 'there'), 'it need a lot of money' (subject-verb agreement), and 'A person who live' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence construction will help improve accuracy.
