It is obvious that many individuals spend most of their living with the people who are close to their heart since childhood or birth. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons, advantages, and disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided for staying near one's birthplace are somewhat vague, focusing on emotional attachment without deep exploration. The advantages and disadvantages are mentioned but lack specific, well-supported examples, relying instead on generalisations. For instance, the discussion on 'advancement' and 'stranger ones' is underdeveloped and lacks clarity. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete examples and ensure that your arguments are fully explained rather than just stated. The position is clear, but the overall depth of the response is restricted by the lack of detailed elaboration.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Additionally' and 'Furthermore', they are occasionally used mechanically or inappropriately, such as 'To add to this, at the born time you would immature'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical flow of the argument. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary cohesion to link sentences smoothly. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'previous people' instead of 'people from one's past' and 'stranger ones' instead of 'people from different backgrounds'. The use of 'born time' is also non-standard. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in collocation limit the score. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise terminology to express your ideas, rather than relying on basic or slightly misused vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses, articles, and sentence construction, such as 'The reason being is they are first contact' and 'if require'. Some sentences are fragmented or lack proper subject-verb agreement. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence structures and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and article usage before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
