Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent times, It has been noticed that many people spend most of their life living in their hometown. I personally feel that there are many perks of living far from place where you were born. But some people contradicts and believe living in hometown provides us safety and comfort. In the upcoming essay, I will discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of living in a native place.
One of the major reasons of living in the native place whether it is a city or a village is that, we have all the family and friends with us. They can support us in our low phase of life and we may never fell separated or alone. Moreover, things became easy for us because we know most of the individuals of our area. For instance, all the shopkeepers or workers are one of our neighbours or mates because everyone knows each other especially in samll communities. .
On the other side, living in a hometown can limit our career options because of limited availability of jobs. This is because, small cities or towns have limited opportunities. Likewise, students can left behind in their studies, because it is not always possible that we have a appropriate college or university in our area which provides the program, we are interested in. As, it is well-known fact that most of the renowned organizations are based in big cities. By living far from home, young individual can achieve a job with lucrative salary which helps them to sustain their life style.
To sum up, living in a hometown with parents and friends could provide us the sense of comfort and relief. But such places often lacks options for higher studies and have limited job opportunities. Therefore, it is clear that living far from birth place have more advantageous.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying in a hometown, and the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the discussion on career limitations is relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The introduction is slightly repetitive, and the conclusion makes a definitive statement ('have more advantageous') that is grammatically awkward and lacks nuance. Overall, the ideas are relevant and the response is well-structured, but it would benefit from more thorough exploration of the points raised to move beyond a general level of discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'On the other side', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by minor errors in sentence structure. Referencing is generally clear, though the connection between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is logical, meeting the requirements for a band 6.5 or 7.0, though it lacks the sophisticated, unobtrusive cohesion of higher bands.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There is an attempt to use some less common items (e.g., 'lucrative', 'renowned'), but there are also persistent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'low phase of life' instead of 'difficult phase' or 'fell separated' instead of 'feel separated'. Spelling errors like 'samll' also appear. While the range is sufficient to discuss the topic, the lack of precision and the occasional inaccuracies in word choice prevent the response from reaching a higher band. The vocabulary is functional but lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for a band 7.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'some people contradicts' (subject-verb agreement), 'students can left behind' (modal verb usage), and 'living far from birth place have more advantageous' (missing article and incorrect adjective form). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are some awkward phrasings that suggest a lack of control over complex structures. While the meaning is always clear, the frequency of these errors keeps the score at a band 6.0, as the writer does not yet demonstrate the consistent control of complex grammar required for a higher band.
