Student answer (Band 6.0)
Few people prefer to spend their whole life living close to their born place. This essay believes that family ties is the main reason behind this trend, and this has pros like strong backup and cons like lose a chance to explore the world.
It is argued that the family bond is the biggest reason behind this development, where these people unlike to apart from their relatives. This is because they are grown up within birth place with their family members and enjoyed every moment of their life with them, so they feel emotionally connected. It is very daunting for them to migrate elsewhere, if they have to go away from their close relatives. For instance, in places like Kashmir, people like to spend their whole life living in their village, where they born and consider migration as morally wrong.
Spending whole life in same place would have an advantage of strong support, because people are living there from so many years that create a vehement emotional bond by having multiple interactions. If they face any problems in their life, their friends and family will first to come out for. However, there is a negative issue with this lifestyle: they could not explore the outer world. Most of the people would like to visit foreign, so that they can meet people from different cultures and races. For example, living within a same city would need to give up an opportunity to migrate elsewhere.
In conclusion, some like to live the life in their born place, this is because they want to remain close with people with common bloodline. Although this has an advantage of healthy support, remaining untouched with the outer world is a negative effect.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying in one's birthplace, and the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on the 'disadvantage' of not exploring the world is quite brief and could have been expanded with more depth regarding personal growth or career opportunities. While the ideas are relevant, they lack the detailed support required for a higher band. The essay covers the requirements but remains somewhat superficial in its analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the reasons to the pros and cons. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'This is because they are grown up within birth place' and 'However, there is a negative issue with this lifestyle'. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow of the argument. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure feels a bit rigid.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward collocations or word choices, such as 'born place' (instead of 'birthplace'), 'common bloodline' (instead of 'family'), and 'vehement emotional bond'. The student attempts to use some less common vocabulary, but the usage is not always natural or accurate. The range is sufficient to convey the message, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility or stylistic awareness expected at higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's flow. Examples include 'family ties is' (subject-verb agreement), 'unlike to apart from' (incorrect verb usage), 'they are grown up' (tense error), and 'visit foreign' (incorrect word class). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. More attention to basic sentence construction and verb forms is needed.
