Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals prefer to live their whole life in their homeland. I believe it is their fear of feeling homesick that prevent them from exploring the world. So, I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages that comes with it.
People are different, some people are more emotionally connected to their stuff and place where they grew up. They become used to the same style of living and community. As a matter of fact, even if they think about moving away, they fear the feeling of loneliness. This fear overpowers them and stop them from living somewhere else.
In addition to that, they do not get the chance to discover more opportunities and meet new people . They remain unaware of the culture and beauty of the world. For example, a person who resided in china his whole life did not got the chance to witness the beauty of Taj Mahal and Eiffel Tower. Their fear takes away joy of their life.
However, there is a merit these people enjoy which is they get to spend most of their time with their family and friends. The people who truly cares about them. Unlike, the people living alone aboard, they do not have to figure out everything by themselves. They do not face the struggle of adapting to new places and compromise with their culture.
Overall, homesickness is a major factor that prevent people from exploring the world and takes away the chances of growth. But, they get the privilege of sense of belongings throughout their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying in one's birthplace, and the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you identify 'fear of homesickness' as a reason, the explanation remains quite brief. The advantages and disadvantages are touched upon, but they could be expanded with more detailed examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The position is clear throughout, but the ideas are not fully extended, which is a requirement for higher bands. To improve, try to elaborate on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments with more specific real-world context.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition to that', 'However', and 'Overall' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally imprecise. For example, the transition between the discussion of reasons and the advantages/disadvantages could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could benefit from more varied linking words to improve the overall progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'homesick', 'community', and 'adapting'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'connected to their stuff' (which is informal) and 'compromise with their culture' (which does not quite fit the intended meaning). To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise and sophisticated vocabulary, avoiding repetitive phrasing and ensuring that words are used in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('disadvantages that comes with it', 'fear... and stop them', 'people who truly cares') and tense errors ('did not got the chance'). While these errors do not prevent communication, they are persistent. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring consistent verb tense usage throughout your writing. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures would also help improve your score.
