Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this prevailing neoteric era, people always seek for the comfort and happiness in their born place. Owing to this, majority of the proponents of society enjoy their lives by staying close to the place where they were born and brought up. I prudently believe that there are multifaceted rationales behind this phenomenon along with some upsides and the downsides that are mentioned in the subsequent paragraphs.
On the one side, there are salient reasons why most of the sector of the society spend most of their lives at a nearby area where they live on the grounds they can staying in touch with their family with full of comfort. To explicate, many people have a thinking that under the family's supervision they can nurture themselves well and also get the exposure of social events. Furthermore, this can make people more elated as they are surrounded by their known one's, on contrary if they are living somewhere else, it can make them feel more isolated from their born place.
On the other side, I prudently emphasize that getting more amount of amenities can be a upside for the people. To explicate, such individuals can use more benefits of nearby accommodation that they are familiar like hospitals, schools and restaurants. Subsequently, one of the drawback of this phenomenon is not getting real life exposure. To put it in simple words, people living close to their place can make themselves more dependent rather than doing things on their own which ultimately lead them to the attachment of their place. To cite an example, one of my friend living abroad shares his personal story that how life has changed him as a new person by not living close to the place where he born.
Conclusively, I firmly believe that getting comfort of the belonging one can make people choose living close to their grown up place, however nearby place caters substantial amount of amenities to the people comparatively than staying far can act as a upside while downside like not getting real life exposure can considered as a drawback.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for staying in one's birthplace and discussing both advantages and disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation of 'real life exposure' is vague and lacks depth. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments rely on generalisations rather than well-developed examples. The final paragraph is a summary but does not add significant value to the discussion. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete, specific examples and elaborate on the implications of your points rather than simply stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'To explicate', 'Furthermore', and 'Subsequently' to link sentences. However, some of these transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'On the one side' and 'On the other side', which are not standard idiomatic phrases for this context. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the phrase 'the belonging one' in the conclusion. Improving the variety and natural flow of your linking words will enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items like 'neoteric', 'proponents', and 'multifaceted'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'seek for the comfort', 'known one's', and 'getting more amount of amenities'. The phrase 'prevailing neoteric era' is also somewhat forced and not entirely appropriate for this context. While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision in word choice prevents a higher score. Focus on learning common collocations and using words in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and prepositions, such as 'they can staying in touch', 'one of the drawback', and 'can considered as a drawback'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors with apostrophes, such as 'one's'. The sentence structure is often repetitive, and some phrasing is clunky. To improve, focus on ensuring subject-verb agreement and mastering the use of passive voice and modal verbs, which are currently causing some minor confusion in your writing.
