Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, people are becoming self centric and quickly forgetting their own roots and childhood memories due to this few individuals decides to stay at their birthplace for a major span of their life so that they can relieve and stay connected with their culture and traditions. I will be presenting few reasons behind this thinking along with pros as well as cons which come along with this trend.
To begin with, few individuals prefer comfort over hustle. To exemplify, leaving home is not easy at all as it comes with a tons of sacrifices such as, long distancing with family friends and relatives. Moreover, one has to leave all generational belongings back up and starts from scratch.
On the other hand, there are quit a few cons of staying in comfort zone rather than stepping out to achieve life goals. Firstly, one would might lack behind in a life. In other words, if there are less opportunities at home town then it is not a wise choice to leave and move to place where there is more value. In additions, it can also help in developing self confidence. If an young individual face struggle and hard challenges alone and thrive through it then he/she can grow stronger for future. For example, I my self was dependent on parents until I decided to come to Canada leaving all my near and dear ones behind but now I am much more stronger and confident personality compared to the past.
In conclusion, wethere to live at the same place or step outside is a personal choice but one should make this decision accounting the benefits and demerit such as career options and struggles.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons, advantages, and disadvantages. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The introduction is slightly confusing, as it suggests people stay in their birthplace because they are 'self-centric,' which contradicts the later point about staying for cultural connection. The advantages of staying are mentioned (comfort, avoiding sacrifice), but the disadvantages of staying are somewhat conflated with the advantages of leaving. The ideas are relevant, but the argument could be more clearly structured to distinguish between the pros and cons of the specific choice to remain in one's birthplace.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion.' However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between the reasons for staying and the disadvantages of staying is abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'due to this' in the introduction, which does not clearly link to a preceding idea. Paragraphing is present, but the logical progression of ideas within the paragraphs could be smoother.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common collocations, such as 'generational belongings' and 'thrive through it,' though some word choices are slightly unnatural or inaccurate, such as 'lack behind' (should be 'lag behind') and 'quit a few' (should be 'quite a few'). The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but there is a lack of precision and some minor errors in word choice that prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('few individuals decides'), article usage ('a life,' 'an young individual'), and prepositional errors ('distancing with'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with commas. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching the 7.0 band, which requires more frequent error-free sentences and better control over complex structures.
