Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the contemporary era, some people feel that they need to spend their lives living near where they were born. There are some beliefs behind that. Also, it comes with pros and cons. I think that there are more benefits than drawbacks. I will discuss the reasons, benefits, and disadvantages in the following paragraphs with a comprehensive opinion.
The primary reason behind people thinking of living close to where they were born is responsibility. People think that where they were born and grew up is that time when the land around them was give you too much, like shelter, food, health care, and so on. Thus, after they grow up, it is a core responsibility to give back to their nation, society, and surroundings in order to contribute more to development by living and becoming part of that journey.
There are numerous benefits of this phenomenon. The most effective is togetherness. Through this phenomenon, members of the same family can live together and support each other, as well as help the country develop at a greater pace. Furthermore, people have the strongest bond with their surroundings, as they are born and brought up there. As a consequence, they can help society move forward with the tradition and culture of their country.
On the contrary, there are a few drawbacks to this thinking, is that exposure of neighbor country or provinces. As a result, they cannot experience other cultures or traditions.
To recapitulate, I can assert that living close to where they were born prove as the beneficial for the individuals as well as the countries. As their drawbacks are manageable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons, advantages, and disadvantages. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of 'responsibility' is a bit vague, and the section on disadvantages is underdeveloped, consisting of only two sentences that lack specific examples or depth. While a clear position is maintained, the arguments could be extended further to reach a higher band. The response covers the requirements but lacks the depth and detailed support expected at higher levels.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'On the contrary', and 'To recapitulate' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. Overall, the structure is coherent, and the paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different aspects of the task.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'contemporary era' and 'phenomenon', though these are sometimes used slightly inaccurately or repetitively. Some word choices are simplistic, such as 'give you too much' or 'neighbor country'. To improve, the student should focus on more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary to express complex ideas with greater nuance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'is that exposure of neighbor country' (missing subject/verb) and 'living close to where they were born prove as the beneficial' (subject-verb agreement and article usage). Punctuation is generally functional, but the errors in sentence construction and verb forms are noticeable. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve the score.
