Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 128 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the prompt asks for reasons, advantages, and disadvantages, the response provides only brief, fragmented points. The ideas are underdeveloped, and the essay lacks a clear conclusion or a cohesive argument. Because the response is less than half the required length, it is impossible to fully address all parts of the task, resulting in a low score for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is poorly structured. While there are attempts at paragraphing, the transitions between ideas are abrupt and often illogical. For example, the shift from discussing the benefits of travel to the disadvantages is sudden and lacks proper cohesive devices. The use of linking words is minimal and often misused, such as starting a paragraph with 'also lack of capital' as a standalone sentence. The logical progression of ideas is severely hampered by the lack of development and the disjointed nature of the sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of awkward word choice and incorrect collocations, such as 'resorted the living' and 'boost to the economy' used in a context that does not make sense. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the topic in any depth. Spelling and word formation errors are frequent, which occasionally makes the intended meaning difficult to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentence structures. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, including missing articles, incorrect verb forms, and subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'most individual recently have resorted', 'whose harsh climate are'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many sentences lacking proper capitalization or ending punctuation. These errors are pervasive and frequently impede the reader's understanding of the text.
