Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying in one's birthplace, as well as the advantages and disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as the comfort of familiar social circles and the career benefits of local knowledge. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the point about parents being 'backbone of their life' is underdeveloped and lacks clear explanation. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more specific examples or deeper analysis of the implications of your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'For this reason' appearing twice in the first two paragraphs. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'It makes tough for them to move somewhere without guardians.' The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'good job', 'good career', and 'stuff'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'some places is an indispensable part' (subject-verb agreement error) and 'establish own self'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'introvert' and 'perspective', the range is limited. To improve, focus on using more precise synonyms and collocations, and ensure that your word choices are appropriate for a formal essay context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('some places is', 'children has born'), missing articles ('every rules'), and awkward phrasing ('where they are not worry about'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, especially verb tenses and pluralization.
