Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is no doubt in it some individuals live their most of the time where they were born. Behind this there are reasons may be they are emotionally attached to the place and because of their comfort zone. There are pros and cones of this thing also let us discuss in the upcoming paragraphs.

First and foremost , the reason behind people spend their most of time where the are born is emotional connection with the place, to explain it, the place where any person born and brought up they have memories over there with the every single thing with he or she used to play in the childhood, and where they learn how to walk how to talk things like that and so on. In addition to this, sometimes comfort zone also play a role when someone lives for a long time on the one place. I would like to take my own example for this, when my parents decided to sent me to another city for my higher education i did not want to leave my city because there were a plethora of things running into my brain like ' How the place where i have to live and about people and about how i will manage the things over there because they are new to me.

On the one hand, there are a number of benefits if we live close to our birthplace. Firstly, we have enough confidence to face anything over there because we know every single thing how works since. Another thing is that reputation, for instance, when we are lived our lives many years on the same place people know us and they always help us and we have people in our difficult time.

On the other hand, there are drawbacks of this thing, sometimes lacking behind for the good opportunities, to elaborate it, when any person live on the same place from a long time he or she miss the better opportunities because sometimes they are just spend their time on a single place just because they are doing good and happy. For example when any person doing a job on a one place for a long time because he or she is getting a good salary and he or she is happy that's it however, this company did not contribute in their growth. Furthermore, sometimes people stuck in their life because of they give half of their lives to a single place and at the end they just thinking that that is their life, they forget to explore new things.

In conclusion, every coin has two sides like in the same way there are good side and bad side of living on the same place. Every person have their own choice reading it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying in one's birthplace, as well as the advantages and disadvantages. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as the emotional connection and the comfort zone. However, the development is occasionally hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of depth in the analysis of the disadvantages. For instance, the point about 'lacking behind for the good opportunities' is a strong idea but is expressed in a somewhat simplistic manner. The position is clear throughout, and the structure follows the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. The use of cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'In addition to this', and 'On the one hand' helps guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'There are pros and cones of this thing also let us discuss'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the conclusion where the flow feels a bit abrupt. Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use some less common vocabulary, such as 'plethora' and 'emotional connection'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'pros and cones' (pros and cons), 'lacking behind' (missing out on), and 'stuck in their life'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the argument. Expanding the range of academic collocations would significantly improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the student attempts complex sentences, they are frequently marred by grammatical errors, such as 'the reason behind people spend their most of time' (the reason why people spend most of their time) and 'when we are lived our lives' (when we have lived our lives). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.
