Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people born at a place, spend their most time living nearby because of several reasons such as family connections, stability from familiar surroundings, community feeling and many more. There are advantages and disadvantages associated with living at such a place.
First of all, connected to family roots provides help and support whenever needed, which also promotes a growth mindset to move forward by taking risks in career and life. For example, a person situated in a town, where all his family members and relatives are present. They will have a ground to move ahead by starting a business or becoming a highly educated professional. Moreover, they live a healthy social life by staying connected to culture and traditions followed since their childhood.
Despite of such benefits there are major disadvantages associated with such a lifestyle. Being inside a comfort zone makes people emotionally weak from stepping out of it. For instance, if a person lives in the same village with their parents for about 25 to 30 years and moving out would be a tough decision and will drain their emotions. Furthermore, never deciding to change the neighbourhood misses out their job opportunities. For example, a person who was born at a place, where he graduated and started working. After few years when they might need to earn more money might need to move into city in search of better positions and financial independence.
To conclude, I would like to say that people do not like to move out of their hometown unless they find enough courage to live an improved lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons, advantages, and disadvantages. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples, such as the person starting a business or the individual needing to move for higher wages, the explanation remains quite general. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the implications of these points. For instance, when discussing the 'comfort zone,' you could elaborate on how this specifically impacts long-term personal development or professional adaptability. The position is clear, but the depth of analysis is slightly superficial, which prevents it from reaching the higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'First of all,' 'Moreover,' 'Despite of,' and 'To conclude.' However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'Despite of,' which should be 'Despite' or 'In spite of.' Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, in the second paragraph, the sentence 'They will have a ground to move ahead' lacks a clear antecedent for 'They.' Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would enhance the flow of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'growth mindset,' 'financial independence,' and 'comfort zone.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation that slightly hinder the natural flow. For example, 'born at a place' is better phrased as 'born in a place' or 'born in a particular location.' The phrase 'connected to family roots provides help' is grammatically awkward; 'maintaining family roots provides support' would be more precise. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring your word choices are contextually accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include preposition errors ('born at a place'), subject-verb agreement ('connected to family roots provides'), and awkward phrasing ('never deciding to change the neighbourhood misses out their job opportunities'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. To progress, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions, and try to incorporate more varied complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
