Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt: reasons for staying, advantages, and disadvantages. The ideas are relevant and logically grouped. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, when discussing the disadvantages, the point about 'fewer opportunities' is mentioned but not fully explored with a concrete example or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points by providing specific scenarios or more detailed explanations. The position is clear throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'The most significant one', 'In addition', and 'However' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as in the sentence 'Living near birthplace offers various benefits includes the people can enjoy...', where the connection between the clause and the main idea is grammatically awkward. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking phrases will help improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'financial stability', 'social network', and 'career prospects'. There are some instances of slightly unnatural word choices or minor errors, such as 'main strong connections' (should be 'maintain') and 'staying at birthplace' (missing an article). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your word forms are accurate in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and articles. For example, 'it also have certain drawbacks' (should be 'has'), 'can involves' (should be 'can involve'), and 'make people to stay' (should be 'make people stay'). Additionally, there are missing articles before nouns like 'birthplace' and 'hometown'. These errors are noticeable but do not impede overall communication. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage, and try to incorporate more varied complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
